The 1st UB3Guard Training School "Current problems in urban tree health - canker stain disease of plane trees" was arranged in Athens. During four warm October days, participants from 15 European countries learned about detection methods and management of the disease that is threatening the future of the plane trees in cities, but also in the forests. The Training School participants concluded that the further spread of the disease has to be prevented to protect the plane trees, and this can only be achieved through research, education and awareness raising.
