The 1st UB3Guard Policy Workshop was organized in Vilnius, Lithuania on October 10th and 11th, 2023. A group of 34 researchers and stakeholders from 13 countries spent two intensive days learning about the local stakeholders' work in maintaining green urban spaces and ensuring the well-being of city residents and discussing possibilities to improve urban tree biosecurity through policy instruments.
Discussions continued during an excursion to the beautiful park of Verkiai. In the city centre, the group was treated with guided tours to Lukiškių aikštė square and the public park Bernardine Garden where several trees were badly damaged by recent storm winds.
Ačiū Nature Research Centre and Vilnius for hosting this event and promoting the importance of urban tree conservation and biosecurity!
